博士（动物学），副研究员，当前工作涉及果蝇分类及系统进化、芋果蝇的访花及繁殖行为、芋果蝇及拱背果蝇多型（polyphenism）的进化生态学机制以及果蝇性梳的发育及遗传学机制等。2016年至今担任国际昆虫学SCI收录期刊Entomological Science编委。发表果蝇新属1个（凤仙花果蝇属）、新种200余个；已发表研究论文43篇，包括第一或通讯作者发表在PNAS、Mol Phylogenet Evol、BMC Evol Biol、G3、Syst Entomol、Zool J Linn Soc等主流期刊上的多篇论文。所发表论文被领域内主流期刊（包括Science、PNAS、Biol Rev、elife、Am J Hum Genet、PLoS Biol、Mol Biol Evol、PLoS Genet、Genetics、Evolution、Mol Phylogenet Eol、Mol Ecol、Evol & Devel等）引用300多次。
